Hey there, I'm Emma!

The free-lance pet portrait artist behind "Pet Pawtraits By Em" I’m a self-taught pet portrait artist, currently based in the Blue Mountains, Sydney.

Starting out in graphite and soft pastels back in 2019, I’ve since stepped out of my comfort zone now also working with coloured pencils and even starting with acrylic painting!

​When I'm not working as an Avian and Exotics Veterinary Nurse, you’ll find me in my spare time; sketching, drawing and creating some one of a kind portraits! Working with exotic pets inspires me to challenge myself by teaching myself the different ways to draw and represent the weird and wonderful animals we share this world with!

I strongly believe in creating one-of-a-kind pieces, gathering the quirks and characteristics of each animal!
